System Engineer 1

About The Position

At Adaptic, Systems Engineers help turn complex mission needs into solutions that work. Supporting the DoD and Intelligence Community, you’ll work across the system lifecycle—helping define what needs to be built, shaping how it should work, and ensuring the final solution delivers against mission requirements. We’re looking for a Systems Engineer who can connect the big picture with the technical details, working alongside customers, developers, and project teams to translate operational needs into effective technical solutions. You’ll support systems from early concepts through development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering + 3 years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in Engineering + 1 year of relevant experience
Doctoral degree in Engineering with no experience required
For a relevant technical degree such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics: Bachelor’s + 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s/Doctoral degree + 1 year of relevant experience
Relevant experience must involve engineering systems across their lifecycle

Responsibilities

Defining and documenting Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), operational/system requirements, and use cases
Translating mission needs into clear technical and system requirements
Supporting high-level system design and solution architecture
Defining system/component performance and interface requirements
Developing installation, integration, and acceptance test plans
Coordinating with customers, project teams, and partner organizations to ensure solutions satisfy requirements
Evaluating engineering processes and work products to identify opportunities for improvement
Supporting systems throughout their lifecycle, from conception and development through testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and support
Helping define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision across product teams
