About The Position

DataPath is a global leader in remote satellite-based communications solutions that solve our customers’ toughest communications challenges in urgent time frames and under extreme conditions. We specialize in enabling complex communication networks that are critical to the operations of the Department of Defense, Civilian Government, and commercial markets. Summary DataPath, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer will Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 10+ years of relevant experience as a System Engineer or performing System Engineer related activities.
  • 5+ years in the Department of Defense supporting systems engineering technologies highly preferred.
  • Must be familiar with and responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, reliable communication networks in dynamic, often military or field-based environments
  • Must be experienced with integrating existing infrastructures with new tactical network components.
  • The ability to break systems into major components and subcomponents and understand the interfaces between them.
  • The need to design systems and components with a logical modular design with logical/standard interfaces to provide scalability and change when needed.
  • Experience with managing network connectivity between various platforms like ground vehicles, airborne assets, and command centers
  • Must be US Citizen and have a current active secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with selecting appropriate network protocols and technologies for specific mission needs, including data link layers, routing protocols, and encryption mechanisms.
  • Experience with testing methodologies for embedded systems, integration testing, and systems-level testing; familiarity with utilization of simulation tools to analyze system performance under various scenarios.
  • Experience with hardware interfacing (analog/digital converters, sensors, actuators)
  • DoD 8570/8410 IAT Level II certification.
  • Advanced degrees in a relevant technical field are preferred; however, significant professional experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements on a case-by-case basis, subject to formal customer waiver and contractual approval.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements.
  • Investigate system component suitability for specified purposes and make recommendations regarding component use.
  • Provide customers or installation teams guidelines for implementing secure systems.
  • Direct the analysis, development, and operation of complete computer systems.
  • Direct the installation of operating systems, network or application software, or computer or network hardware
  • Install the unit specific configurations (configs)/Internet Protocols (IP) which are based on the latest unit System Architecture and the Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF).
