About The Position

The Systems Engineer is responsible for defining requirements with the customer community, decomposition of requirements to an actionable level, assignment of requirements to the appropriate engineering discipline, tracking and leadership of design activities to ensure they result in a compliant design, and verification that a design ultimately meets requirements.

Requirements

  • Systems engineering of complex systems throughout the product lifecycle
  • Experience developing, integrating, and verifying systems
  • Program planning including scope definition, resourcing, and budgeting
  • Creating and maintaining software interface control documents
  • Data analysis development in MatLab, Mathematica or similar tools
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Writing requirements specifications, verification matrices, verification plans, and verification reports
  • Developing and presenting technical information to both internal and external customers
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the technical team to establish robust and executable program plans including the identification of tasks, trade studies, modelling, analyses, and risk management
  • Review and assess customer requirements, establish requirements management including validation, decomposition, flow down, and technical budgeting
  • Requirements definition, analysis, decomposition, and lifecycle management
  • Support system architecture definition, lead design development, analysis and performance verification
  • Organize and lead formal design reviews to internal and external customers (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Generation of requirements specifications, test plans, performance reports and engineering memoranda
  • Analysis of product test data and presentation of objective evidence of requirements satisfaction
  • Contribute to pursuit and proposal activities for new contracts
  • Develop specifications and interface control documents
  • Develop and guide verification including a requirements verification matrix, verification plans, test requirements, and preparation of sell-off materials to demonstrate compliance
  • Communicate with the program office, functional management, and technical team members to ensure proper program execution and early issue and risk identification
  • Document statement of work (SOW) and performance specifications for subcontracted items
