About The Position

The Link 16 Systems Engineer supports the Program Office in the integration, configuration, and verification of MIDS JTRS and airborne Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems in accordance with MIL-STD-6016, STANAG 5516, and program-specific requirements. The engineer contributes to the achievement of program objectives by supporting requirements decomposition, interface and interoperability analysis, waveform and configuration management, discrepancy investigation and resolution, and coordination with Government and Industry stakeholders during system integration and test activities. This role directly supports system interoperability, certification readiness, and fleet capability delivery through disciplined systems engineering practices, verification and validation of performance, and proactive technical risk identification and mitigation.

  • Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, developing, and testing computer systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Integrate multiple systems, hardware, and software components to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues (bugs), as needed.
  • Work closely with cross- functional teams, including software development, test/QA, technical support, technical writing, system architects, configuration management, and all levels of program management.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of system designs, System Requirement Document (SRD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), software user manuals, configurations, requirement traceability matrices, risk assessments, System Engineering Management Plan, Interface control documents, version description documents, fault tree assessments.
  • Participate in the systems engineering life-cycle by supporting and assisting with key activities across all phases, including requirements analysis, system design and architecture, implementation and integration, testing and verification, documentation, troubleshooting and maintenance, and collaboration.
  • Research and systems engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices; stay updated on industry trends and support in the training of junior members of the team.
