Systems Engineer, Mid

Booz Allen Hamilton•San Diego, CA

About The Position

The Systems Engineer will support a capability integration team in shaping the development and technical direction of DoD warfighting requirements. The role uses model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools to represent client-requested features and develop requirements for product development teams. It is a model-first role that uses MBSE to support Digital Engineering as a standard practice. The engineer will work across multiple products to integrate a portfolio and connect models, and will design MBSE techniques and practices for DoD C4I systems across their lifecycle. The work includes helping client delivery teams transition to model-based system architectures and combining systems modeling with networking to develop network system architectures for development, implementation, and sustainment. The position offers opportunities to develop skills in SysML, object-oriented and functions-based systems engineering methods, integration, C4I, and enterprise networking technologies. A Secret clearance and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science are required. The position's projected annual compensation range is $61,900 to $141,000, with actual salary depending on factors including location, education, skills, experience, and organizational and contract requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with MBSE tools, including Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM), MagicDraw, and Teamwork Cloud (TWC).
  • At least 3 years of experience with collaborative Navy modeling environments on NIPR and SIPR, including Naval Integrated Modeling Environment (N-IME), Naval Digital Engineering Ecosystem (NDEE), and TWC.
  • At least 3 years of experience with modeling languages and methodologies, including SysML, UML, UAF and UAFP, and DoDAF.
  • Experience with MBSE concepts such as generalization, inheritance, redefinition, refactoring, developing structured expressions, and distinguishing stereotype tags from owned attributes.
  • Experience maintaining models in collaborative environments such as TWC, working with federated architectures and project usages, and transferring models between classified enclaves, such as using DOTS to transfer from NIPR to SIPR.
  • Experience with model verification tools and techniques, including metric suites, validation rules, structure expressions, and scripting using Java and Jython.
  • Knowledge of authoritative reference sources, including JCA, UNTL and UJTL, and JCSFL, and how they are used in architecture model development.
  • Ability to bridge MBSE capabilities and organizational needs to improve organizational processes and products with MBSE tooling.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
