Systems Engineer
About The Position

Evolv is seeking a Systems Engineer to administer, operate, and continuously improve our core IT systems—from Microsoft 365 and virtualization to cloud infrastructure and disaster recovery. Reporting to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity & Technology, you'll be the reliable technical engine behind Evolv's IT operations, working alongside a Network & Cybersecurity Engineer peer who owns network and security. You'll collaborate across the organization, build trusted partnerships with stakeholders, and serve as a subject matter expert on day-to-day systems and cloud operations. Requirements
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint)
- Virtualization administration (Nutanix)
- Backup infrastructure administration (Rubrik)
- Windows and Linux VM management
- Disaster recovery replication and testing
- Data classification, retention, and deletion support
- AWS/Azure infrastructure operation (EC2, S3, resource groups, cost management, budgeting)
- Escalation support and mentoring to IT teammates
- Runbook and documentation maintenance
- Technology advisory to internal stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint
- Own virtualization (Nutanix) and backup (Rubrik) infrastructure, including Windows and Linux guest VMs
- Manage offsite/disaster recovery replication and testing
- Support corporate data management initiatives: data classification, retention, and deletion
- Operate day-to-day AWS/Azure infrastructure: EC2, S3, resource groups, cost management and budgeting
- Provide front-line escalation support and mentoring to IT teammates; maintain runbooks and documentation
- Act as a trusted technology advisor to internal stakeholders on day-to-day systems needs
