About The Position
The JAAW Group LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical Department of Defense systems onsite at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. This role will support the design, integration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex IT systems and infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, and other technical teams to ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and operational.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in systems engineering, systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related technical role.
- Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and system security.
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems and infrastructure issues.
- Strong technical, analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
- Experience working within classified or highly secure environments.
- Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, identity and access management, and enterprise networking.
- Experience with automation or scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with RMF, NIST, STIGs, vulnerability management, or other DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Relevant technical certifications such as Security+, Network+, Linux+, Microsoft, AWS, Azure, VMware, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise IT systems and infrastructure.
- Support Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance and resolve technical issues.
- Perform system configuration, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
- Support integration across servers, networks, storage, applications, and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Implement and maintain system security configurations in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
- Support configuration management, system baselines, and change management processes.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, configurations, runbooks, and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with networking, cybersecurity, cloud, software, and other technical teams to support mission requirements.
