About The Position

As a systems engineer for the Unmanned & Future Combatant Systems business area, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for systems engineering for our Future Combatants and Mission Systems. This role involves applying systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories, and utilizing requirements management and system modeling tools. The position is part of a global team at General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), which engineers high technology solutions for defense and scientific arenas. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
  • Proficiency in the use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards.

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Sensor interfaces, measurements, using sensor data in applications.
  • Basic sensors such as temperature, strain gauge, etc. or navigation sensors such as GPS, MEMS IMU, radars, etc.
  • Test procedure writing and execution. Requirements based design and test to verify.
  • Physics, core engineering, or computer science background.
  • Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
