About The Position

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Systems Engineer 4 (Mid-level) to focus on system architecture, requirements, and interfaces primarily for the P-8 program. This position reports to the P-8 Systems Engineering group and will be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA. The P-8 is a high-visibility, advanced commercial derivative military aircraft program supporting the U.S. Navy and international customers. As a Systems Engineer, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. You will evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
  • 9+ years of related work experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A Secret clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience working on aircraft system requirements and/or system architecture and interface definition.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently with minimal management oversight.
  • Experience with the P-8 or similar commercial-derivative military aircraft system is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with Visio, DOORS, or CADDS for schematics is beneficial but not strictly necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the P-8 requirements, architecture, and interfaces.
  • Assess the impacts of change requests and additions to the P-8 requirements and architecture.
  • Draft Requirements Specification Change Notices.
  • Flow top-level requirements down to lower-level specifications.
  • Develop verification matrices.
  • Update Interface Control Documents (ICDs) at configuration change points.
  • Update architecture block diagrams and box-level interfaces.
  • Coordinate with other engineering IPTs (wiring, cabinets, interiors, etc.) to understand and document pin-to-pin connection requirements.
  • Collaborate with design teams and the Navy customer.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to develop future upgrades.
  • Analyze verification evidence of completion.
