About The Position

Inflection is seeking an experienced systems engineer to own spacecraft design, technical budgets, interfaces, and other systems engineering work. The role reports directly to the CTO and is full-time and onsite at Inflection’s headquarters in Los Angeles, California.

The Systems Engineer will work across spacecraft subsystems and manufacturing to support seamless integration, testing, operations, and manufacturing scale-up. The role includes leading flatsat and hardware-in-the-loop development, working directly with customers on payload integration and operations, contributing to spacecraft hardware and software design, and leading hands-on work across prototype and flight hardware. The engineer will also design systems for reliable, repeatable production.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience working with spacecraft, space systems, or other similar complex technical systems.
• Ability to understand, communicate, and work across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Strong personal initiative and the ability to identify and address problems proactively.
• Passion for space.
• Ability to work hands-on and appetite to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Own spacecraft systems engineering artifacts, including requirements, technical budgets, and interfaces.
• Coordinate across spacecraft subsystems and the manufacturing team to support integration, testing, operations, and manufacturing scale-up.
• Lead flatsat and hardware-in-the-loop development.
• Work directly with customers to plan and execute payload integration, testing, and operations.
• Contribute to detailed design across the spacecraft hardware and software stack as required.
• Lead hands-on manufacturing, integration, testing, and operations across prototype and flight hardware.
• Design for reliable, repeatable production.
