About The Position

The successful candidate will assist in the software development lifecycle through requirements derivation, process development and refinement, Model Based Systems Engineering model development, and contractual documentation for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
2+ years with Bachelor's degree; 0+ years with Master's degree
Practical experience executing or analyzing results from military modeling and simulation (M&S) frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis, scripting, or automation using Python, MATLAB, or C++.
Familiarity with missile defense concepts, space-based tracking/sensors, or orbital mechanics.
Basic understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.
Must be self-motivated and capable of executing technical tasks with minimal supervision.
Current active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD.
Top Secret clearance with access to SCI.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

Direct experience working with the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) or Missile Defense Space Tool (MDST).
Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) ground test, flight test, or wargaming events.
Basic experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
A current active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with access to SCI (TS/SCI).
Applicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

Support capability elicitation and derivation of requirements to realize requested development.
Collaborate in defining and developing processes and procedures.
Research and gain experience with missile defense concepts, space-based sensor phenomenology, and threat model trajectories.
Work in close coordination with senior engineers to develop systems engineering artifacts supporting development and testing.
Participate in the development and update of technical documentation, system requirements, and user guides for simulation tools.
Provide briefings to customer(s) and stakeholder(s) related to technical solutions, process development and updates, and system engineering artifacts.
Support training and orientation of simulation tools.
