About The Position

The Strategic Communications Team is seeking an Systems Engineer committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems. As part of Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems organization, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the Strategic Communications Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals and Secure Switching Networks.

Requirements

  • Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test execution, test reporting, and test automation
  • Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
  • Experience in System Level Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
  • Experience in Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
  • Agile working environment experience
  • Test automation experience in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience in systems support to software application and hardware development
  • Experience in system or application integration
  • Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment
  • Experience in Scripting

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
  • Support lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing
  • Integrate solutions within their target environment
  • Execute Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
  • Document minor changes in systems or processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness
  • Communicate with team members within and outside of team
  • Analyze and document system behaviors
  • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
  • Define Hardware and Software Interfaces
