About The Position

Visionist has an exciting new, fully FUNDED opportunity for a Systems Engineer on our PRIME contract. You will be instrumental to the testing and maintenance of a mission critical software application, working to streamline and enhance our testing processes and continuous integration ecosystem. You will join a team of 25+ who work together to provide full-lifecycle support to a software application that provides multi-media ingest, storage, query, playback, analysis, and transcription capabilities. This program performs design, development, pre-production staging, and production maintenance and support activities to include training. Dependent on the role being performed, this program allows hybrid work from home opportunities 2 days a week. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
  • 10 years of experience in systems engineering
  • Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in Linux environments (RHEL 8/9, Rocky 8/9)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions in AWS environments
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues spanning multiple technology domains and environments
  • Experience administering and optimizing AWS services including computing, networking, storage, identity management, monitoring, and backup/recovery capabilities
  • Experience with Grafana
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience providing customer support through Jira Service Desk
  • U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible). Applicants selected will be required to obtain / maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the DevOps team in testing and troubleshooting our web application
  • Collaborate with operations and development teams to identify testing needs and develop test plans
  • Triage reported operational issues
  • Perform daily monitoring of Tier 1 application health and status metrics
  • Report issues detected during testing or system usage via the ticketing system
  • Perform system and application installations, upgrades and production system security patching
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency
  • Provide operational support and/or training to users
  • Monitor and respond to application-related Jira Service Desk tickets
  • Occasionally respond to mission-critical after-hours calls
  • Participate in minor CONUS/OCONUS travel (~1–2 times per year)
