•$79,300 - $147,600•Onsite

About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer at Level 2 or 3 to join a multidisciplinary engineering team in Gilbert, Arizona, or Dulles, Virginia. This individual-contributor role manages the technical and functional interfaces between one or more hosted payloads and a spacecraft bus. Work products include payload port-specific interface control documents (ICDs), giver-receiver materials, reviews and approvals of bus accommodation documents, functional and performance test scripts, and identification of mechanical, electrical, and environmental constraints and requirements. Analysis work includes supporting payload science, experiment, and mission planning, and evaluating mission performance and orbital operations. The role covers technical planning and analysis throughout the system lifecycle, development of system architectures and interface definitions, requirements and change management, trade and performance studies, proposal and project support, and participation in program reviews. The engineer also supports spacecraft and payload test campaigns, integration, testing, troubleshooting, readiness, and operational activities, and helps incorporate lessons learned and develop teammates. The role requires an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Travel is 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.
