Systems Engineer
About The Position
As a Systems Engineer at Long Wall, you will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the companyâs IT infrastructure supporting engineering, corporate, and mission-critical operations. You will manage and maintain a complex ecosystem of servers, networks, endpoints, and enterprise applications, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient systems that enable every program and every mission. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to design, implement, and optimize IT solutions in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence while supporting Long Wallâs continued growth and mission execution.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelorâs degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
- +5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone, and telepresence
- Ability to pick up to 50lbs
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- This position requires access to information protected under US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations. As such, US person status (including US citizens, U.S. permanent residents, individuals granted U.S. asylum status, or individuals admitted in U.S. refugee status) is a required qualification for this position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, servers, and virtualization environment
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual/physical servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Manage and maintain MDM for Apple devices.
- Administration of various lines of business applications from Engineering (CAD, ANSYS, Matlab, etc), corporate software (M365, Atlassian, SQL)
