About The Position

Torch Technologies has an immediate opening for Systems Engineers at multiple levels to contribute to a small analysis team supporting the US Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) and Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) projects. We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineers / Analysts to contribute to the analysis of integrated defense systems, including Radars, Command and Control (C2) architectures, Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drones), and Missile Systems. The ideal candidate is technically strong, equally comfortable writing low-level bash scripts in a Linux environment and briefing technical results to senior government stakeholders. You will serve as a technical bridge between complex system requirements and actionable data.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-12 years system design experience, including hardware/software integration.
  • Professional experience performing analysis of tactical weapon systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for mathematical analysis and report generation.
  • Understanding of the physics and logic governing Radars, C2 systems, and Missile/Drone kinematics.
  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing analysis of tactical CUAS systems pre and post live fire test events.
  • Experience using Podman (or Docker) for application deployment and environment isolation.
  • Experience with industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Previous experience acting as the Primary Technical Point of Contact (POC) for a government program office.
  • Familiarity with DIS/HLA standards for distributed simulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate test results for radar performance, C2 logic, and kinetic interceptors.
  • Create robust automation pipelines using Bash scripting to streamline simulation runs, environment setup, and data collection.
  • Develop sophisticated data reduction and analysis tools using Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) and MATLAB.
  • Create high-impact technical plots and visualizations to communicate system performance.
  • Author comprehensive technical reports, design documents, and verification/validation (V&V) reports for delivery to the customer.
  • Lead technical discussions with government customers to translate operational needs into concrete simulation requirements.
  • Present complex test results to stakeholders and senior leadership, providing clear recommendations based on data.
