About The Position

The Systems Engineer will play an essential role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure computing systems that support healthcare operations and member care services. The Systems Engineer will ensure that complex systems operate efficiently, reliably, and comply with industry regulations and standards. The Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, network engineers, and healthcare professionals to integrate new technologies and optimize existing infrastructure. The role demands a proactive approach to troubleshooting and system optimization to minimize downtime and enhance system performance. Ultimately, The Systems Engineer’s contributions will directly impact the quality and reliability of health and social care delivery through advanced systems engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3 of years experience with Linux operating systems administration and system design.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and shell scripting for automation purposes.
  • Strong programming skills in C and C++.
  • Experience with system installation, configuration, and maintenance in a production environment.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working within the healthcare or social assistance industry.
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT standards and regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and security best practices.
  • Certifications related to systems administration or Linux administration (e.g., RHCE, CompTIA Linux+).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Design, develop, and implement system architectures tailored to healthcare applications and infrastructure needs.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using languages such as Python and shell scripting to streamline system operations and deployments.
  • Manage Linux-based operating systems, ensuring system security, stability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate C and C++ applications within the system environment.
  • Conduct system installation, configuration, and upgrades while adhering to healthcare compliance and security standards.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure continuous availability and reliability.
  • Document system designs, configurations, and procedures to support maintenance and compliance audits.
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary project teams to support the deployment of new healthcare technologies and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
