Dark Wolf is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed professional to fill the role of Systems Engineer to support our team in Northern Virginia. The Systems Engineer will design, develop, and implementation of software systems/services solutions based on requirements analysis; perform operational feasibility evaluations and recommend improvements; develop and maintain system and solution code, architecture, and security documentation.
Requirements
- 15+ years’ work experience plus a Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with designing cloud-native architectures using cloud services such as AWS, Google, IBM, and Oracle
- Experience and expertise in writing efficient and performant SQL queries
- Experience designing and operating cloud-native architectures using cloud services and big data systems
- Experience facilitating engineering discussions across teams representing multiple stakeholders to develop and execute implementation strategies that meet mission needs
- Experience with agile software development and testing
- Experience with data security, regulatory and compliance requirements, and security accreditation package development
- Experience with data security and governance using centralized security controls like LDAP, encryption, and auditing
- Experience with specialized technologies that are optimized for the particular use of the data, such as relational databases, NoSQL database, or object storage
- Experience using centralized security controls like LDAP, encrypting data, and auditing access to data
- Experience and understanding of IT Service Management and common SLA measurements
- Experience working with container orchestration technologies such as AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, and Kubernetes or other enhanced capabilities available
- Experience in managing large operational cloud environments spanning multiple tenants using Multi-Account management, AWS Well Architected Best Practices, and AWS Organization Units/Service Control Policies (OU/SCP)
- Experience in total systems perspectives, including a technical understanding of systems and applications relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components
- Experience consulting with customers to determine present and future user needs
- Experience providing frequent contact with customers, traceability within program documents, and the overall computing environment and architecture
- TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph clearance

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implementation of software systems/services solutions based on requirements analysis
- Perform operational feasibility evaluations and recommend improvements
- Develop and maintain system and solution code, architecture, and security documentation
- Originate JupyterHub Notebooks for user consumption
- Provide user facilitation in both originating and correct SQL queries to maximize system performance, while ensuring user requirements are exceeded
- Facilitate engineering discussions across teams representing multiple stakeholders to develop and execute implementation strategies that meet mission needs
- Consult with customers to determine present and future user needs
- Provide frequent contact with customers, traceability within program documents, and the overall computing environment and architecture
