We are seeking a Systems Engineer for our Research & Development team in the Exton, PA area. Due to the confidential nature of the work, all essential functions must be performed on FARO premises. This role will focus on full product lifecycle engineering for a line of opto-mechanical products. The engineer will participate in all phases of product development from research, requirements elicitation, system development, testing and hand-off to production. The Salary range for the position is $85,000 - $100,000.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related applicable field with excellent academic credentials. Prefer: M.S.
  • 2+ years of experience in the field of Systems Engineering
  • Demonstrated strong technical aptitude, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Programing/scripting experience using Python, C#, Java or similar is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining internal production software tools a plus.
  • Familiarity with the following software tools a plus.
  • JIRA/Confluence
  • Azure
  • MatLab
  • Experience in system and subsystem hardware/software validation
  • Test plan development
  • Test plan execution
  • Results analysis, documentation, and reporting
  • Experience in modular system design/Validation a plus
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary Engineering teams.
  • Provide feedback to teams, ensuring design standardization and integration.
  • Participate in project planning efforts by identifying and estimating (sub)system testing tasks
  • Demonstrated track record of successful product releases.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical lab equipment
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing processes and product transfer
  • Experience with regulatory compliance testing processes a plus

Responsibilities

  • Key contributor in the validation, standardization, and integration of 3D measurement products.
  • Ensure system requirements are properly defined and testable at all phases of product development.
  • Design and conduct experiments to analyze and isolate the root cause of problems related to product quality and performance against requirements.
  • Provide technical advice within field of expertise to other organization personnel as may be requested.
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures, recommending and implementing changes where indicated and approved.
  • Lead the diagnosis of complex problems with our products and recommend solutions with minimal oversight.
