About The Position

The Mid-Level to Senior Systems Engineer integrates, configures, troubleshoots, tests, and installs Naval Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems in support of the Naval Tactical Grid team within Naval Information Warfare Center. The role requires 6–12 years of relevant systems engineering experience and demonstrated expertise integrating and troubleshooting Naval C4I systems in complex networked environments. The engineer helps resolve hardware, software, networking, and interoperability issues to support successful integration and operational readiness before, during, and after deployment. Travel may be required to support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and installation aboard Navy platforms and at shore-based facilities. The mid-level engineer independently provides guidance, testing, evaluation, and systems support to test leads, program managers, and project teams; supports program artifacts and requirements tracking; reviews and standardizes documentation; applies quality assurance expertise; trains junior personnel; participates in planning meetings and working groups; maintains project databases and test-management tools; develops test procedures; and reports on project requirements. The senior engineer works with strong independence and provides technical leadership and strategic direction throughout the engineering lifecycle. Responsibilities include documenting system designs and configurations; leading requirements development and traceability; architecting and integrating complex systems; overseeing implementation, verification, validation, deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management; managing project planning and progress; supporting continuous improvement; preparing technical documentation and recommendations; and mentoring junior engineers.
