About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer (Level 3) to join our Space Analysis and Experimentation Team in Berkeley, MO. The Space Analysis and Experimentation Team in the Virtual Warfare Center has a need for a creative and highly motivated systems engineer who is interested in developing a virtual simulation environment and operating the environment in support of customer wargaming events. The position involves the development of modeling and simulations. The position requires an understanding of real-time simulation and an ability to perform programming tasks to represent customer-accepted models in an Operator-in-the-Loop (OITL) virtual simulation. The applicant will be required to work with a team of software and systems engineers to execute the development of scenarios, integration, testing and running events. The candidate will directly interface with United State Government (USG) government customers to include military, civilians and other industry contractors. The candidate engineer will need to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 4+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB
  • Experience with AFSIM or other simulation tools
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of MATLAB and mission level analysis tools, such as AFSIM, STK, other simulation tools or computer programming, is required.
  • Experience using project and configuration management tools such as Git and Jira are preferred.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently without direct supervision, and with a distributed team to develop end products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are highly desired.
  • Experience with spacecraft design, spacecraft operations, high fidelity spacecraft simulations, space situational awareness and working with the military is a plus.
  • Prior military or DoD civilian experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with military operators and their support contractors
  • Experience in developing technical requirements from written and verbal guidance/direction
  • Working knowledge of GIT

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
