About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer that are familiar with software systems and developing software system designs, requirements, interfaces, etc. This position is located in Seal Beach, CA. We prefer full time onsite, but will consider the possibility of working remotely. This position is expected to last 6-12 months with the possibility of extension.

Requirements

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • 10 or more years of experience.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Cameo experience (or at least the willingness to learn).
  • Experience with development and maintenance of SW Requirements Spec (SRS).
  • Experience with systems design for HW/SW systems; ability to develop system level design flows/threads informing the SW requirements/design.
  • Experience with interface definition between multiple SW systems and between HW and SW.
  • Experience supporting SW Formal Qual Test (FQT).
  • Bachelors degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience with space/satellite systems and iLoad configuration tables.
  • Experience with System/Mission level integration tests (between flight and ground SW).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Develop system-level designs for integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Construct system-level design flows and threads that inform software requirements and design decisions.
  • Define and document interfaces between multiple software systems and between hardware and software components.
  • Perform model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using Cameo Systems Modeler to capture requirements, architecture, and interfaces.
  • Support Software Formal Qualification Test (FQT) planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Analyze requirements for completeness, testability, and traceability across system and software baselines.
  • Coordinate with software development, test, and hardware engineering teams to resolve requirement and interface issues.
  • Support system and mission-level integration testing between flight and ground software.
  • Develop and maintain iLoad configuration tables supporting spacecraft/payload software configuration.
  • Participate in technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and prepare associated engineering artifacts.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior systems engineers.
