About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 2 Systems Engineer with a Secret clearance to work from our Sunnyvale, CA location. The COOLR program is looking for a talented and dedicated Systems Engineer to join the Military Space Protected Comms Flight Engineering and Integration (FE&I) organization. The COOLR program consists of Advanced Extremely High Frequency System (AEHF) and Military Strategic and Tactical Relay (Milstar) satellites and serves the mission of providing the President, Secretary of Defense and the U.S. armed forces with survivable, global, secure, protected, and jam-resistant satellite communications (SATCOM) with low probability of interception and detection, and is designed to operate through contested environments. This position will support Satellite Constellation Operation and Sustainment activities by providing on-console subsystem support to maintain the constellation operation, resolving and investigating anomalies to minimize service interruptions, analyzing subsystem performance, tracking timeline and trends to ensure the health and status, conducting detail trade studies and reliability analysis, and identifying potential enhancement to the constellation and the service it provides. This is an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) ROLE where candidates typically require 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

Requirements

  • Excellent team orientation and willingness to learn
  • Experience with Satellite Operation support
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Satellite Electrical Power System
  • Knowledge on Battery Technologies, cell balancing techniques, battery management
  • Knowledge on Telemetry and trend analysis
  • Knowledge on MATLAB and Python or other types of scripting languages
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting to peers, leadership, and/or customers
