Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer - Level 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Chandler, AZ. The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems. The successful candidate will design and develop system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements. They will defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications, develop thorough definition of system external interfaces, and define system implementation approaches and operational concepts to ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 12 years of related experience OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of related experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience
  • Must have an active DoD Government Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering with experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of system architectures.
  • Support Flight Test specific verification efforts
  • Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Perform system requirements analysis.
  • Automation workflow development of multi-disciplined functional processes in support of various engineering and business processes.
