About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer supports NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Upper Stage program office at Marshall Space Flight Center under the Amentum ESSCA contract. The role plans and performs systems engineering, development, assembly, test, verification, certification, and integration activities for the SLS Upper Stage for Artemis IV and subsequent missions. It also supports implementation of requirements for ARTEMIS and MAESTRO software, including design, development, integration, and testing with Upper Stage partners, and facilitates integration between Core Stage and Upper Stage test and integration facilities. The position works with program-office personnel and software, hardware, and facility development teams to support integration and test facilities (IATF), emulators, and related systems throughout development, operation, verification, and validation. It supports verification and validation planning and execution, ensures test systems and equipment are controlled and validated, analyzes test data, traces results to requirements, tracks progress and timelines, and produces project deliverables and status reports. These activities continue as the launch vehicle architecture matures and the SLS program progresses through program phases, reviews, and schedule milestones. The work is primarily in an office environment, with domestic travel. The normal workday is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; minimal overtime may be required. The employee must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
