This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining all facets of the infrastructure that delivers our client-facing and internal services. As a key member of our IT team, you will be the operational backbone of our infrastructure, keeping our server environments healthy and resilient. You will work in a complex, multi-client hosting environment alongside experienced IT staff, with exposure to the security and compliance disciplines specific to our industry. This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership from day one, ideal for someone who wants variety, responsibility, and a direct line of sight to the impact of their work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration, infrastructure operations, or a similar IT operations role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration in a production, multi-server environment
  • Practical experience with server virtualization platforms and hypervisor-based infrastructure
  • Experience operating enterprise backup solutions, including restore testing and recoverability verification
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and application monitoring tools, including alert triage, investigation, and escalation practices
  • Working knowledge of directory services, identity management, and endpoint management platforms
  • Fundamental networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall concepts
  • Scripting ability for automation and reporting (PowerShell or similar)
  • Strong documentation habits, with comfort producing and maintaining runbooks, change records, and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a SaaS, managed services (MSP), or multi-client hosting environment
  • Exposure to hyperconverged infrastructure or hybrid cloud environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise security tooling such as endpoint detection and response, log analysis, or SIEM/SOC workflows
  • Experience with load balancing, reverse proxy, or application delivery technologies
  • Understanding of database server administration fundamentals
  • Awareness of compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS or ISO 27001 in an operational context
  • Relevant certifications: Microsoft (Azure/Windows Server), CompTIA (Security+, Network+, Server+), or network and security specific credentials
  • Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines or infrastructure automation initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain a large Windows Server estate across on-premise virtualized infrastructure and public cloud environments
  • Manage day-to-day backup operations: monitoring job health, investigating failures, and verifying recoverability
  • Serve as a first line for infrastructure and application monitoring alerts: triage, investigate, resolve, and escalate with clear context
  • Support application delivery platforms including remote desktop services, web server farms, and database environments
  • Provide responsive internal user support: endpoint troubleshooting, account and access administration, and device lifecycle management
  • Execute structured patching and maintenance cycles across servers and endpoints, maintaining compliance reporting
  • Manage digital certificate lifecycles for client-facing web applications, tracking renewals and coordinating deployments
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories, technical documentation, runbooks, and change records
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and reporting
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, environment changes, and continuous improvement initiatives alongside senior team members
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation for production incidents
