This role involves contributing to the development of systems engineering documentation, managing system requirements, and ensuring the delivery of production systems compatible with defined architectures. The Systems Engineer will assist in developing system and functional requirements, coordinate action item resolutions, and participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities. They will also be involved in interface definition, design, and changes, allocating process and error budgets, and deriving lower-level requirements from higher-level ones. The position requires generating alternative system concepts, participating in the definition of systems/components, and defining verification methods. Additionally, the role involves developing system design solutions, deriving requirements for Information Assurance Services, and providing input to work breakdown structures. The Systems Engineer will offer technical direction for complex hardware/software systems, including requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, and conducting assessments. They will implement SOA solutions, develop operational concepts, and review/approve system engineering documentation. The role also includes conducting quantitative analysis in non-functional performance areas, establishing integration strategies, defining interfaces, and using models/simulations to mitigate risk. Risk management, maintaining system baseline integrity, planning verification efforts, and ensuring effective configuration control are also key responsibilities. The Systems Engineer will serve as a member of the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and participate in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) efforts, recommending preferred solutions and developing system design alternatives.
