About The Position

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in either Florida or Michigan. The Systems Engineer will assist in the design, build, configuration, deployment, maintenance and support of the core financial systems and associated gateways. What You’ll Do: Install, test, upgrade, and configure Microsoft Windows/Linux (RHEL) servers and software.Ensure the core financial systems and gateways are working optimally and securely.User security administration for core financial systems.Perform routine maintenance on systems, including patching and security remediation.Identify incidents quickly and drive resolution in a time sensitive manner.Perform monitoring of production environments to ensure optimization of each supported system.Install and maintain software utilities to identify/resolve issues.Interface with hardware and software vendors to ensure proper maintenance of existing products and evaluate new products.Work with virtual technologies.Maintain working knowledge of SAN systems and related concepts and design.Assist DBA in maintenance of production and test core financial system databases.Create and maintain technical/process documentation.Participate in annual disaster recovery planning and testing.Perform complex routine duties independently.Provide training on related equipment and software.Provide overall technical support for IM&D.Respond to trouble tickets.Assist on special projects as directed by supervisor.Assist with budget requirements and maintenance contracts for areas of responsibility.Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed.Assist in identification, correction, and resolution of application program problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of system support experience.
  • Experience with Windows 20xx servers, Linux (RHEL), and protocol analyzers/sniffers.
  • Ability to quickly identify incidents and drive resolution in a time sensitive manner.
  • Strong understanding of data security and system integrity.
  • Familiar with file transfer technologies including FTP and sFTP.
  • Familiar with SSL/TLS certificates/encryption technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to initiate and embrace change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Occasional travel for training, conferences, and disaster recovery or off-site equipment support.
  • On call support 7 x 24, 30-minute response, as needed.
  • Extended duration of computer terminal usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Veeam backup software and Fiserv DNA gateways is preferred.
