About The Position

The Systems Engineer supports Meriplex’s Professional Services GOV team and reports to the Manager of Professional Services. This role is primarily responsible for server implementation and must deliver exemplary customer service and technical advice to customer leadership and decision-makers. The role involves overseeing the completion of customer projects to ensure all timelines, deployments, and installations are executed correctly. Responsibilities range from delivering advanced server implementation and design to presenting key technical reports to C-level client leadership.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of relevant compliance standards such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, and DoD requirements (especially for GCC High).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud platforms.
  • Ability to develop and execute migration plans, to ensure minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Great communication skills to coordinate with clients and internal teams during onboarding and migration projects.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to provide insight into customers’ technical needs.
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Oversee timelines, deployment, and vendor management for small-to-medium projects.
  • Communicate costs and general budgetary observations to customers.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and TCP/IP networking.
  • Apply advanced technical triage methodologies and service delivery expectations.
  • Adhere to ticketing methodologies regarding documentation, process, and workflow.
  • 5+ years of MSP (Managed Service Provider) implementation experience (Required).
  • Certifications: Security+, VMware (VCP/VCTA/VCAP), MCSE, MCSA, Cisco, Azure, or Microsoft 365.
  • Superior reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts, devices, and industry best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security, Administrator Expert, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cloud migration strategies and best practices.
  • SAN-specific certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert in infrastructure design and architecture.
  • Perform technical equipment installations at customer sites.
  • Execute the deployment, installation, and architecture of infrastructure.
  • Provide advanced support and proactive implementation for client environments.
  • Act as an escalation point for technical support teams.
  • Offer mentorship and education to fellow team members.
  • Advise customers on system health and make strategic product recommendations.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to enhance customer understanding.
  • Utilize Microsoft Visio and documentation tools to illustrate customer technical environments.
  • Standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the customer environment.
  • Manage and maintain comprehensive customer documentation.
  • Provide advanced implementation support for Microsoft 365, MS Azure, and MS Exchange servers.
  • Deliver network-wide VPN, VMware, Hyper-V, and firewall implementation and configuration.
  • Supply multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementation support.
