About The Position

The Boeing Company's Oklahoma City (OKC) site is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer for the ETS&S Systems Engineering Capability. This role focuses on the modernization and modification of aircraft across various military products. The engineering team develops integrated solutions to enhance capabilities and performance on existing aircraft platforms, with a focus on modifications and upgrades for Commercial Derivative aircraft. The position requires strong communication and leadership skills, detailed systems engineering experience in modification and modernization programs, and the ability to work across multiple engineering teams to develop and drive system solutions. A successful candidate will apply systems thinking to understand the broader context and inter-relationships of Systems Integration activities, integrate and manage Systems Engineering deliverables, and resolve cross-functional technical issues. The role involves developing and monitoring requirements management processes, development assurance, risk and opportunity management, and systems maturity planning. Collaboration with peers, stakeholders, partners, and team members, as well as support for FAA and Military Certification, are key aspects of this role. Mentoring and coaching team members on Boeing processes and deliverables is also expected. The use of Model Based Systems Engineering Tools is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) degree from an accredited program in a math- or science-based discipline such as engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Minimum of 9 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Strong systems thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and create plans for executing on deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft system and/or domain knowledge in the following areas is preferred: MIL Radio, Mil Nav, Mission System, Networking, Cabin Systems, IFE and Classified Processing, 787 Common Core Avionics, 777-300 AIMS/Avionics, 737-MAX 8/9/10 Avionics, LAIRCM, RWR, CMDS, Airworthiness, avionics interface / mnemonics (ARINC 429), MIL-STD 1553.
  • Experience in ICD development, functional / logical architecture, requirements development, specification development, system functions and SSOW development.
  • Experience in System Architecture Development and Modeling tools (CAMEO/MSOSA, Rhapsody).
  • Experience in Requirements Management and tools (i.e. IBM DOORs).
  • Experience in verification & validation of requirements.
  • Experience in risk, issue, and opportunity management.
  • Experience project engineering and executing system design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Experience in systems integration and test including lab integration, ground test, and flight test.
  • Experience in Airworthiness and Certification (such as FAA, EASA, or Military).
  • INCOSE Certification.
  • Experience with mentoring and leading other engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead your team to work across numerous engineering teams to develop, coordinate, and drive system solutions.
  • Apply systems thinking to understand big picture and inter-relationships of all Systems Integration activities – apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
  • Integrate and manage Systems Engineering deliverables (functional analysis, requirements, safety analysis, etc.) with Systems maturity plans.
  • Integrate and resolve cross-functional technical issues across Systems IPT and other engineering domains.
  • Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, development assurance processes, risk and opportunity management, and systems maturity planning.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers, stakeholders, partners, and team members within and outside organization.
  • Support FAA and Military Certification.
  • Mentor and coach (ensuring team understands & executes Boeing processes, ensuring quality of all the team's internal/external deliverables).
  • Travel periodically to support customer and supplier meetings.
  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering Tools (MSOSA, CAMEO, Rhapsody, DOORS, 3DX, etc.).
