About The Position

The Boeing Global Service (BGS) P-8 Modification Integration Team (PMIT) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level or Senior System Engineers in Tukwila, Washington. PMIT is an engineering team dedicated to execution of post-production P-8 modifications, including capability improvements, obsolescence impact mitigation, and other sustainment-adjacent activities. The team’s expertise spans supply chain, engineering, lean projects, operations, and U.S. government contract development. This role focuses on the analysis of individual aircraft systems relative to an overarching system of systems while balancing specific customer and operational needs to balance lifecycle performance and cost for multiple P-8 modification customers. This position entails significant direct interactions with the customer, program and engineering leadership, and technical subject matter experts. These engagements require strong written/oral communication, presentation skills, adaptability, proactiveness, working knowledge of program management principles, and independent decision-making skills. Ideal candidates leverage their strength in technical analysis and creative problem-solving to integrate across a diverse set of P-8 engineering functions, P-8 sustainment integrators, engineering and program leadership, the US Navy customer, and suppliers. The P-8 is a military derivative of the successful 737 Next Generation (NG) aircraft and is utilized by aviators to conduct patrol and reconnaissance activities around the world.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of engineering experience
1+ years of experience working with military or commercial derivative aircraft
1+ years of experience with product management and/or technical problem-solving skills
1+ years of experience working in a fast-paced digital environment and prioritizing multiple tasks within schedule and budget constraints
Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

10+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc)
Active U.S. Security Clearance
5+ years of experience working with military or commercial derivative aircraft
3+ years of experience leading and representing technical engineering projects
3+ years of experience in a role requiring project and / or program management skills
1+ years of experience in proposal development, contract negotiations and/or contract execution with U.S. government customers
1+ years of experience regularly presenting to director level leadership and to U.S. government officials (uniformed military, regulator, or similar)
Experience and working knowledge with the P-8 aircraft
Experience with export and global trade controls

Responsibilities

Serve as a prime cross-functional integration focal across internal Boeing stakeholders and suppliers to drive on time and at cost delivery of P-8 modifications
Lead by influence, building robust relationships with key stakeholders and dependent organizations to leverage positive outcomes
Engage with U.S. Navy and foreign military customers to provide program-level problem solving and support for issues with P-8 modifications
Proactively identify, document, and escalate risks, issues, and opportunities (RIO) and their mitigation plans utilizing the Boeing Opportunity Risk and Issue System (BORIS) tool
Support customer (external) and Boeing (internal) major program reviews, readiness meetings, and support program execution strategy development
Perform project engineering tasks including cost, schedule, risk, and earned value management to drive affordability measures
Lead P-8 change process to ensure cross-functional collaboration, sound technical solutions, and on-time engineering releases
Collaborate with U.S. Navy, foreign military customers, and Boeing-internal stakeholders to generate new business related to P-8 modifications
