About The Position

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting Windows server environments and related infrastructure. This role involves managing virtualization platforms, storage systems, backups, and disaster recovery solutions, as well as monitoring system performance, capacity, availability, and security. The engineer will also perform system upgrades, patch management, and technology refresh initiatives to ensure high availability and business continuity. Additionally, the position requires network administration, including managing LAN, WAN, wireless networks, firewalls, switches, and VPN connectivity, along with troubleshooting network performance issues. Support for production-related technologies such as print management systems, RIP software, production workflows, and manufacturing equipment interfaces is crucial. The role also encompasses cybersecurity and compliance, implementing and maintaining security controls, monitoring for threats, managing endpoint protection, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Cloud and enterprise application support, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Entra ID, is also a key responsibility. Finally, the Systems Engineer will serve as a Tier III escalation resource, provide technical guidance, develop documentation, and collaborate with leaders to identify technology solutions.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in systems engineering, network administration, or infrastructure support.
Experience supporting manufacturing, printing, or production environments preferred.
Experience with Microsoft server technologies, virtualization, and cloud services.
Microsoft Windows Server administration.
Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.
Active Directory and Entra ID.
VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
Network technologies including switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless systems.
Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Cybersecurity tools and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong customer service orientation.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
PowerShell scripting and automation preferred.
SQL database knowledge preferred.
Experience with ERP, MIS, or print management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with production, prepress, and operations teams to optimize system performance and workflow efficiencies.
Assist in troubleshooting technology issues that impact manufacturing output and production schedules.
Support integrations between business systems and production equipment.
Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls and best practices.
Monitor systems for security threats and vulnerabilities.
Manage endpoint protection, user access controls, and security audits.
Participate in incident response activities and remediation efforts.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud-based services.
Manage Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, and related technologies.
Assist with enterprise software implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
Work with vendors and third-party providers to resolve technical issues.
Serve as a Tier III escalation resource for complex technical issues.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to IT staff.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify technology solutions that improve business efficiency.
