About The Position

As a systems engineer for the Fire Control Program, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for supporting the strategic deterrence program by maintaining lab systems in a constant state of operational readiness, performing active troubleshooting and corrective actions to resolve technical issues and sustain lab availability. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to ancillary projects and initiatives that directly enhance and expand mission capability in support of the broader deterrence program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards
  • Clear understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools
  • Creative thinker with ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-On Electrical Troubleshooting in a Lab or Test Environment
  • Experience Supporting Weapons Systems or Strategic Programs
  • Preventative & Corrective Maintenance background
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in a live lab or test facility setting
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment
  • History of reducing system downtime through proactive maintenance strategies
  • Familiarity with configuration management and maintaining lab equipment records/documentation
