Systems Engineer, Mid

Booz Allen Hamilton•San Diego, CA
•$61,900 - $141,000

About The Position

The Systems Engineer will support a capability integration team in developing and technically directing warfighting requirements for DoD customers. This is a model-first effort using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to achieve Digital Engineering as a standard. The engineer will use MBSE tools to represent client-requested features, develop requirements for product development teams, and integrate a portfolio of products by connecting models. The role involves designing MBSE techniques and practices for DoD C4I systems across their lifecycle and helping delivery teams transition to model-based system architectures. The engineer will apply SysML, object-oriented and functions-based systems engineering methods, and integration practices while building experience with C4I and enterprise networking technologies. The work combines system modeling and networking to create robust network system architectures for development, implementation, and sustainment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with MBSE tools, including Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM), MagicDraw, and Teamwork Cloud (TWC).
  • At least 3 years of experience with collaborative Navy modeling environments on NIPR and SIPR, including the Naval Integrated Modeling Environment (N-IME), Naval Digital Engineering Ecosystem (NDEE), and TWC.
  • At least 3 years of experience with SysML, UML, UAF and UAFP, and DoDAF.
  • Experience with MBSE concepts including generalization, inheritance, redefinition, refactoring, developing structured expressions, and distinguishing stereotype tags from owned attributes.
  • Experience maintaining models in collaborative environments such as TWC, working with federated architectures and project usages, and transferring models between classified enclaves, such as using DOTS to transfer from NIPR to SIPR.
  • Experience with model verification tools and techniques, including metric suites, validation rules, structure expressions, and Java and Python scripting.
  • Knowledge of authoritative reference sources, including JCA, UNTL, UJTL, and JCSFL, and their use in architecture model development.
  • Ability to connect MBSE capabilities with organizational needs to improve processes and products using MBSE tooling.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing architecture models that conform to DoDAF and UAF.
  • Experience with Top Secret Navy modeling environments, including Eden TS Teamwork Cloud.
  • Knowledge of PAE mission systems and Chief Engineer (CHENG) organizational processes and procedures, such as ECR, IATT, and ATO.
  • Knowledge of emerging enterprise architecture frameworks, their purpose and implementation, and their relationship to and impact on Navy architectures.
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative Digital Engineering meetings, technical interchanges, and MBSE office hours.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Master's degree.
  • OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Language Professional (OCSMP) Certification.
