About The Position

The Enterprise Engineering team manages one of the largest Windows client fleets globally, focusing on enhancing Amazon's security while ensuring user productivity. They build and maintain solutions for Amazon's global Windows client fleets, leveraging AWS products to modernize enterprise tools and services at scale. The team is seeking a Systems Engineer with a Windows-focused infrastructure and development background, along with strong knowledge of Windows performance troubleshooting. This role involves directly influencing Amazon's Windows endpoint management roadmap, utilizing native AWS services, external third-party services, and DevOps patterns to manage a growing fleet of Windows client devices. It is a hands-on position encompassing Windows administration, tool and automation development, root cause analysis, performance analysis, and service infrastructure maintenance, contributing to the next generation of Windows management tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration experience
  • 5+ years of building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments experience
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS
  • Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
  • Experience working in 24/7 production environment
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and solve issues in a globally scaled enterprise environment
  • Windows client management- patching, updates, profile deployments
  • Maintain client management service infrastructure hosted in AWS
  • Contribute to automation efforts with a primary focus on the Windows client
