Systems Engineer
About The Position
Red Arch Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer with autonomous dataflow experience to join a mission-focused team in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role involves analyzing user requirements, developing system specifications, and providing technical leadership for system integration and design. The engineer will guide users in formulating requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and develop technical documentation, including system architecture and design. They will also guide system development and implementation planning and interact with the Government on Systems Engineering technical considerations. The ultimate responsibility lies with the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables. The role requires communication with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Requirements
- Autonomous Dataflow Plan Engineering: Synthesize high-level operational requirements into detailed, end-to-end dataflow plans–defining ingest points, transformation steps, security/compliance boundary crossings, and destination endpoints.
- Independent Problem Solution: Analyze and resolve complex dataflow routing issues where standardized documentation or procedures are insufficient or non-existent.
- Rapid Domain Acquisition: Independently research, analyze, and master new or unfamiliar systems and tools to address emerging operational needs.
- SOP Adaptation and Knowledge Capture: Leverage existing baseline documentation as a preliminary guide, while synthesizing tailor-made solutions into formal, repeatable procedures and technical recommendations.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

- Tooling and Workflow Tracking: Familiarity with knowledge management and ticketing tools such as Confluence and Jira.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
- Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities.
- Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
- Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
- Develops technical documentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation.
- Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
- Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
