About The Position

As a Systems Engineer, you will help define success at Ursa Major! You will leverage your experience to help verify our propulsion systems are designed and perform as necessary to meet our customers’ needs.

Requirements

B.S. in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering (or other related technical subject area)
1-3 years experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes – design reviews, requirements validation and verification, failure and risk assessments
Demonstrated organization skills
Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama
Experience with MBSE and Cameo
Familiarity with government and DoD contracts and specifications
Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
SRM or other propulsion system design, development, or test

Responsibilities

Support the leads of all major programs in defining, validating, and maintaining requirements.
Build system-level qualification plans for Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs).
Track requirement verification status through product development and qualification.
Review test and analysis plans and reports to assist with confirmation that requirements are met.
Develop Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Age-Sensitive Items Analysis (ASIA) and other system documents for SRM programs.
Support system-level risk analysis and mitigation; own and carry to closure all system-level risks.
Develop Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models of SRM systems.
Communicate with management and customers on requirement compliance at program reviews.
Create and manage system engineering tools and processes.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to systems engineering associates to advance their proficiency.
