About The Position

The Systems Engineer – Ultrasound (Cambridge, MA) is responsible for delivering outstanding image quality, clinical performance and workflow efficiency by driving the development and integration of next-generation ultrasound imaging systems. The role handles internal investigations into technical complaints regarding development and system integration issues, driving resolution, and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future issues. Your role: Apply principles of acoustic wave propagation and signal processing theory to design, implement and test new ultrasound imaging algorithms, system architectures, and imaging subsystems. Lead the development and implementation of new ultrasound system capabilities, including project planning, algorithm and hardware design, integration strategy, and software implementation. Lead internal investigations into technical complaints regarding development and system integration issues, driving resolution and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future issues. Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D team members, Marketing, Product Management, and internal/external stakeholders to support new feature requirements for specific clinical applications and market needs, and translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications. Engage with experts in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, software development, clinical science, and product management to deliver innovative solutions that meet complex clinical and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • You have a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent disciplines/ and/or experience.
  • You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, signal processing or equivalent.
  • Your skills include strong software skills in C/C++, GPU programming with CUDA or OpenCL, OpenCV, MATLAB and Python.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
  • For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA.

Nice To Haves

  • PHD, preferred.
  • Imaging experience strongly, preferred.
