About The Position

The Homeland – Air Traffic Management division within Leidos is seeking a talented and highly motivated Systems Engineer Training Developer to join our team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position supports the design, enhancement, and sustainment of the SLE/FAST training program through the development of modular, objectives-based instructional content aligned with evolving software and hardware releases, specifically supporting the En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) program. The role combines systems engineering expertise with instructional design capabilities to create engaging, effective, and technically accurate training solutions for mission-critical air traffic management systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in systems engineering processes, adult learning methodologies, and technical curriculum development within government or highly regulated operational environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in related field and 2 – 4 years of prior experience or Masters with 1 – 2 years of prior experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle methodologies and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, a Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
  • Due to contract requirements, the positions requires U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain systems engineering training materials and curricula.
  • Create instructor-led training (ILT), virtual training, eLearning modules, simulations, workshops, and job aids.
  • Develop competency-based learning paths for engineering personnel across multiple experience levels.
  • Develop SLE/FAST training courses in a modular format, ensuring each module addresses a single topic or closely related set of topics.
  • Up-level existing training courses to incorporate government-defined software and program enhancements.
  • Analyze ERAM software and hardware updates to determine training impacts and required content revisions.
  • Update and deliver all SLE/FAST course materials with each ERAM software release when enhancements, functional changes, or corrections affect training content.
  • Ensure training materials remain accurate, consistent, and aligned with operational use across different field configurations.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders and internal teams to validate content updates and support timely training delivery.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by adjusting training content, delivery strategies, and development priorities in response to evolving ERAM releases, schedule shifts, and field implementation differences.
