Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic Systems Engineer to join the Next Generation GEO (NGG) team in Denver, Colorado. This position is in support of the NextGen OPIR program, responsible for testing interfaces with various USSF and Joint organizations and their supporting contractors, and will define the scope of testing necessary to demonstrate Space to Ground System Certification and prepare the vehicles for Operational Acceptance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with complex system of systems architecture, design, and implementation
  • Active current Top Secret to start, ability to obtain TS-SCI.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Space and Ground resiliency architecture, implementation, test, and operations
  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data
  • Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
  • Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
  • TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of approval processes for changes to the launch and operational baselines for NGG interim operations.
  • Coordinate with the USSF to gain concurrence for proceeding with changes
  • Review change packages for technical accuracy and completeness
  • Support the development of deployment plans for new software releases
  • Review planned regression testing and ensure suitability for operations
  • Support system updates and operational testing
  • Provide technical support and information to government personnel performing operations, operational test, and assist engineering teams in troubleshooting efforts
