About The Position

The Systems Engineer - Splunk Administrator will support a critical mission of consequence within our Cyber Mission Business Unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. This work is performed at a contractor facility. The candidate's primary responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing the existing Splunk infrastructure in the enterprise. This critical National Security role is eligible for Peraton's premier benefits package, designed to recognize and support the professionals safeguarding our nation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Seventeen (17) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Splunk and in planning and leading Systems
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required

Nice To Haves

  • Certification – Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin or other advanced certification

Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of Splunk deployments, including both operating system and application aspects.
  • Support Splunk Enterprise Security
  • Apply upgrades and patches as necessary to maintain system
  • Troubleshoot logs and effectively communicate with teammates, both government and contractor, in an enterprise environment.
  • Analyze and resolve system performance issues (e.g. response time or timing problems, interface/integration problems, system bottlenecks, data flow issues).
  • Design a solution by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users and other system engineers
  • Modernize existing Splunk instance to upgrade an existing system's capabilities and make improvements / modernize by performing the following functions: Design and size Splunk architectures, Craft ingest capabilities, Data modeling, Dashboard designing
