MDA is seeking a Systems MTS, Satellite Missions to lead system-level engineering activities across earth observation and remote sensing satellite programs. Working as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of end-to-end mission solutions, supporting the definition, design, integration, verification, and operations of complex space missions and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Applied Mathematics
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in space systems or a related field
  • Experience or knowledge in satellites and their applications, including optical or SAR remote sensing, spacecraft attitude control, orbit determination and maintenance, spacecraft systems (power and communications), flight software interfaces, or spacecraft operations
  • Familiarity with tools such as Matlab, MS Excel, Systems Tool Kit (STK), and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Windchill)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle processes across complex programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Working with customers and end users to understand mission needs and translate them into system requirements from mission level down to major subsystems (Bus, Payload, Ground Segment, Launch, Operations, etc)
  • Drive mission design trade studies to define and develop overall mission architecture and subsystems
  • Developing and generating key deliverables such as engineering plans, budgets, design reports, and operational concepts
  • Performing mission analyses including link budgets, coverage analyses, geolocation accuracy, and pointing budgets
  • Leading the development and maintenance of interface control documents (ICDs) between major mission subsystems
  • Reviewing subcontractor design material to ensure compliance with system requirements
  • Developing spacecraft test procedures and supporting or overseeing their execution
  • Leading system-level verification activities across the mission
  • Leading Development of operations procedures and products for on-orbit commissioning and routine mission operations
