About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Systems Engineer - Product Owner to join their Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) team. This role will primarily support a Proprietary program and other platforms in the GVHMS portfolio. The team develops, fields, and supports aircraft support systems for F/A-18, E/A-18, F-15, T7, and MQ-25 aircraft platforms. The system acquires and manages aircraft health and usage data, performs assessments, updates aircraft configuration, and recommends maintenance actions. This position requires a motivated systems engineer to develop requirements, perform integration activities, manage project budgets, and act as a Product Owner (PO) for various projects. The role involves interaction with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful software product development that meets customer needs. Maintaining and developing plans/schedules, and monitoring/reporting schedule performance are key responsibilities. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. The role will collaborate closely with the software development team, software test team, other product owners, and the Chief Engineer. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for system implementation at customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Ability to Obtain U.S. Secret- Interim Pre-Start & Final Post Start
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design)
  • 3+ years of experience building stakeholder and customer relationships
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Experience of Agile Development
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by influence
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps and system lifecycle plans
  • Develop, document, and verify requirements
  • Develop project schedules and track performance
  • Develop and organize work items for the software team
  • Be responsible for the integration of the components of the GVHMS system to successfully meet customer requirements
  • Coordinate with the customer on a regular basis
  • Document team plans and status, develop meeting agendas and presentations
  • Analyze process compliance and actively work on improvements
