About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer – Data Scientist (Level 2 or Level 3) to join its team. This position is in Clearfield, UT in support of ICBM Sustainment’s assessment team. As a member of the ICBM-S assessment team, you will get to analyze failure and performance data across ICBM subsystems. You will design and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insight into program performance, risks, and ground systems health. You will build and automate data pipelines that integrate information from multiple sources into consistent, high-quality views. You will partner with program managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver decision-focused visualizations. You will also participate and lead risk management of weapon system parts and subsystems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Systems Engineer (level 2): 2 years of experience with bachelor’s degree, or 0 years of experience with master’s degree.
  • Systems Engineer (level 2): 1 year of hands-on experience with data analytics, automation, or coding (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
  • Systems Engineer (level 2): 1 year of experience working with large, complex, or multi-source datasets.
  • Systems Engineer (level 2): 1 year of experience designing, implementing, and using data models to create reports and visualizations for large data sets.
  • Systems Engineer (level 2): 1 year of experience working with and designing relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and data pipelines / ETL processes.
  • Systems Engineer (level 2): 1 year of experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): 5 years of experience with bachelor’s degree, 3 years of experience with master’s degree, 1 year of experience with PhD.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): 3 years of hands-on experience with data analytics, automation, or coding (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): 3 years of experience working with large, complex, or multi-source datasets.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): 3 years of experience designing, implementing, and using data models to create reports and visualizations for large data sets.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): 3 years of experience working with and designing relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and data pipelines / ETL processes.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): 3 years of experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

Responsibilities
