About The Position

As a systems engineer for Network & Communications Systems (NCS), you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for networking architecture, design, development, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools
  • Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) preferred
  • Hands-on experience with configuration of multi-vendor routers and switches and network architecture
  • network troubleshooting using Wireshark and similar tools to isolate issues
  • Experience with IP Multicast configuration and trouble-shooting
  • Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Virtual Private Networking (VPN) over Meshed military radio networks desired
  • Experience with OpenVPX chassis and CMOSS / SOSA
  • Experience with virtual environments [VMWare/Linux] and virtual devices: routers; firewalls; call managers; Bandwidth Virtualization (Seeker)
  • Experience with basic configuration hardening settings to conform to STIGs and RMF security recommendations for Routers/Switches and other devices
