About The Position

The Systems Engineer is responsible for building, securing, and optimizing Turner Padget's enterprise infrastructure across multiple office locations in South Carolina. This role focuses heavily on endpoint management, system automation, and network administration. The engineer ensures seamless connectivity, secure access, and efficient operations for attorneys and staff, while driving automation initiatives that reduce manual workload and strengthen the firm's security posture. We are seeking someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and is comfortable working in a collaborative environment across multiple areas of IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and enjoys embracing new challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years related experience required.
  • Experience with MECM/SCCM imaging, deployment, and endpoint compliance or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Azure, and identity management.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
  • Strong experience with enterprise networking (switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools, vulnerability management, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNP/CCNA preferred
  • Experience supporting multi‑site environments and legal‑industry applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and deploy standardized Windows images, software packages, patches, and vulnerability remediation using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Group Policy Objects
  • Assist with user provisioning, permissions, and system administration.
  • Harden identity infrastructure by enforcing secure authentication policies, conditional access, privileged access controls, and least‑privilege group structures across Active Directory and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Maintain endpoint security through regular deployment of patches and updates to keep software stack compliant with industry standards.
  • Maintain secure configurations across servers and endpoints, including encryption compliance, key escrow, and device security.
  • Support incident response activities by gathering logs, analyzing indicators of compromise, and assisting with containment and recovery efforts during security events.
  • Provide Tier II and Tier III support for workstation, server, application, and virtual meeting issues.
  • Troubleshoot authentication, networking, and software problems.
  • Create technical documentation and reference guides for IT staff to improve team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in after‑hours maintenance windows and on‑call rotations to support firm operations with minimal disruption to billable hours.
  • Support multi‑site network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and routing configurations.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, VLAN segmentation, and IP address allocation to maintain a secure and scalable network environment.
  • Troubleshoot complex network connectivity issues across on‑premises and hybrid cloud systems.
  • Participate in office relocations and infrastructure changes through careful planning and execution to ensure network continuity.
  • Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and service providers to resolve network‑level incidents and maintain up time.
