About The Position

AEITS, a GTSC company, seeks a Systems Engineer Level 3. This position is pending contract award and is located in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland area. All work is on-site, in-person in a SCIF environment, and is not a hybrid or remote position. The role requires a Top Secret SCI clearance with an appropriate polygraph. The mission involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex software solutions for mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications. Responsibilities include analyzing user and system requirements, designing and developing software applications and services, debugging and resolving defects, integrating software, developing database interfaces, creating technical documentation, and participating in Agile development activities. Collaboration with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders is essential, as is supporting software quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include leading software design and architecture, mentoring junior engineers, overseeing technical execution, driving software quality and performance, evaluating new technologies, and serving as a technical lead for large-scale development initiatives.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead across multiple teams and large-scale software initiatives.
  • Top Secret SCI with appropriate polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions supporting mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications.
  • Analyze user and system requirements to develop software design solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Integrate software into new and existing systems and operating environments.
  • Develop and optimize database interfaces, queries, and data repositories.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.
  • Support software quality assurance, configuration management, and release activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
  • Lead software design and architecture efforts.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Oversee technical execution across development teams.
  • Drive software quality, performance optimization, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and engineering approaches.
  • Serve as a technical lead for large-scale software development initiatives.
