About The Position

The Cloud Engineering Lead at Leidos will support a new contract award with the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, specifically for the Defense Health Enterprise Application and Desktop Virtualization Support Group, under the Clinical Information Modernization (CIM) Integrated Product Team (IPT). The primary customer is the Defense Health Agency (DHA), supporting military hospitals and health clinics globally. This role focuses on the Clinical Infrastructure Modernization Program Lifecycle Environment (CIMPLE) project, which aids the Datacenter Operations Program (DCOPS) by providing enterprise infrastructure and professional IT services for the DHA Private Cloud (DPC), Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE), and DevSecOps Community Cloud (DSOCC) hosting platforms. The position is 100% onsite in Charleston, South Carolina. The lead is responsible for guiding a team in developing support and sustainment strategies for cloud computing instantiations, integrating existing on-premise environments with current and future cloud solutions. The role requires expertise in cloud computing technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud and Microsoft Azure GovCloud, and various cloud services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), DBaaS, Software as a Service (SaaS), and FEDRAMP. Key responsibilities include assisting the government with architectural design and engineering of cloud technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, providing comprehensive documentation for designs and implementations, and performing installation, configuration, and testing of hardware and software. The lead will also manage upgrades, patch and platform versions, and provide 24x7 technical support for cloud technologies. Additionally, the role involves supporting IAVA/STIG/DoD policy implementations, developing accreditation packages using DoD Risk Management Framework, and providing Tier 3 engineering assistance for Help Desk issues. The lead will communicate with internal and external stakeholders, influence project/team leaders on solution design, and is responsible for entire projects or processes across multiple technical areas, developing innovative technical solutions.

Requirements

Specific knowledge and understanding of DHA Private Cloud (DPC), the Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE), and the DevSecOps Community Cloud (DSOCC) hosting platforms.
Experience in cloud computing technologies.
10 years’ experience in DoD enterprise environments.
Currently hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communications skills.
Technical Cloud Architecture Background and Experience with DevSecOps, VDI, and hybrid cloud engineering.

Responsibilities

Leading the team in support of support and sustainment strategies for cloud computing instantiations.
Integrating the existing on-premise environment with current and future cloud computing instantiations.
Providing subject matter expertise for Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, and Microsoft Azure GovCloud.
Providing subject matter expertise on multiple cloud services including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), DBaaS, Software as a Service (SaaS), and FEDRAMP.
Assisting the government in the architectural design and engineering of cloud technologies identifying areas to gain efficiencies and reduce costs.
Providing associated documentation for the architectural designs, deployment and implementation supporting cloud technologies installation and configuration.
Performing installation and configuration of hardware and software supporting cloud technologies using industry standard best practices for the server virtualization environment where applicable.
Performing testing of new versions of cloud technologies software in the pre-production lab environment(s) including regression testing on standard configurations.
Recommending upgrade processes as well as execute system wide upgrades to both pre-production lab environment(s) and production environment(s) following program change management processes and procedures.
Implementing standard configuration and maintain patch and platform versions across both pre-production lab environment(s) and production environment(s).
Providing technical support for instantiations of these cloud technologies on a 24x7 basis to ensure rapid problem resolution and maximum uptime.
Supporting IAVA/STIG/other DoD policy implementations and documentation for cloud technologies platforms to include RA and RMF.
Supporting the development of accreditation packages using DoD Risk Management Framework for any designed solution and work toward achievement of an ATO.
Writing and maintaining Architecture Diagrams, Architecture Network Boundary Diagrams, and Installation Configurations Guides.
Supporting direct communication and collaboration with ALL members of the Team, including issue management support, clarification and prioritization of production onsite tasks, reports and site summaries.
May communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, government, etc.).
Works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
Provide Engineering Tier 3 assistance in the management of Help Desk related issues in production.
Works to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
Responsible for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas.
Regularly employs ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems to achieve functional objectives.
