Systems Engineer III, AI Experience

Gormat•Annapolis Junction, MD

About The Position

The Systems Engineer III provides technical leadership for systems engineering efforts involving complex hardware and software systems and AI-enabled capabilities. The role analyzes user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications; leads system design and development; and guides users in developing requirements, evaluating alternatives, and conducting feasibility studies. The position manages system and derived requirements to align production systems with defined architectures, including DoDAF and service-oriented architecture. It develops and reviews systems engineering documentation, directs engineering and integration activities, and establishes processes for requirements traceability, configuration control, risk management, verification, and validation. The engineer coordinates integration across teams, resolves cross-disciplinary technical issues, evaluates design alternatives, and communicates technical risks and recommendations to Government stakeholders, program personnel, and senior leadership. The role is responsible for the technical integrity and quality of systems engineering work products and deliverables.
