This role provides senior-level technical expertise to optimize enterprise system performance, reliability, maintainability, and computational efficiency. The Systems Engineer III will lead the resolution of complex technical issues affecting enterprise deployment, operations, and sustainment, and identify systemic improvement opportunities. They will ensure enterprise capabilities align with mission vision, scope, and operational priorities. The position also involves providing senior technical guidance for server configuration, establishing and enforcing best practices for enterprise services, and leading technology lifecycle planning efforts. Additionally, the role includes leading the planning and design of significant enterprise system changes, developing and approving design documentation, and ensuring all technical solutions have comprehensive test plans. The engineer will also lead the review and assessment of enterprise requirements, evaluate opportunities to enhance automation, and ensure compatibility and stability of integrated solutions. A key aspect is leading technical efforts to ensure enterprise service continuity and quality of service, providing specialized support strategies for legacy or constrained environments, and guiding migration and sustainment efforts. The role requires senior technical oversight for Microsoft-based enterprise services including Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory (AD), Domain-based Distributed File System (DFS), and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). The engineer will serve as a senior technical advisor to the Program Management Office (PMO) and collaborate with government leadership, operations teams, and technical staff. Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers is also a responsibility.
